Spanning several generations, Gardner Moving has been making moves for Pittsburgh families since 1914. Initially operating out of a barn with horses and wagons as their only means of transport, our business quickly adapted to using trucks in the mid-1920s when we built our own garage on South Side. Gardner Moving was passed down from father to son until Joseph P & Michael W (3rd generation) assumed control together: Joe expanded into nearby suburbs while Mike arrived fresh off his service in the U.S Army – ready to contribute!
In 1993 and 1997 Joe’s sons Mike E. and Mark continued the legacy by joining, while Kathy managed affairs from 2002-2013 at her husband’s side until Lynn and Alexandra joined more recently in 2007 and 2014 respectively, forming an incredible female duo of office managers!
